Daily (03.02.2022): European carbon prices jumped by over €5 on Wednesday amid strong technical buying and bullish energy prices

Crude oil prices rose marginally on Wednesday, supported by the decision of OPEC+ members to maintain the gradual increase in production. Gains, however, were limited by higher US crude reserves. As such, Brent oil edged 0.4% up at $89.47 a barrel and WTI crude gained merely 0.1% at $88.26 a barrel.

Daily (27.01.2022): European carbon prices gained around 1.4% on Wednesday, amid an increase in traders positions on the market and strong auction results

Crude oil prices rose on Wednesday, as a conference of Russian, Ukrainian, French, and German negotiators in Paris failed to produce any concrete results. In addition, the weekly EIA report revealed a decrease in US strategic oil reserves, driving prices higher. Despite an increase in weekly crude stockpiles, both Brent oil and WTI crude jumped by 2% to $89.96 a barrel and $87.35 a barrel, respectively.

Daily (13.01.2021): Gas prices were bearish on Wednesday, as ample LNG supply offset winter storage concerns

Crude oil prices continued to strengthen on Wednesday, on the back of a sharp drop in US crude reserves, to the point of approaching multi-year records set last October. Hence, Brent oil gained 1.1% at $84.67 a barrel and WTI crude rose by 1.8% to $82.64 a barrel.

Daily (30.12.2021): Oil prices extended gains on Wednesday, after another decrease in weekly US crude stocks

Oil prices increased for a third session in a row on Wednesday, supported by a further drop in US crude reserves. However, the possible impact of the Omicron variant, new lockdowns and travel restrictions, are limiting gains. Brent oil edged 0.4% up, settling at $79.23 a barrel. WTI crude gained 0.8% at $76.56 a barrel.

Daily (16.12.2021): European carbon prices were bullish on Wednesday, due to volatile trading ahead of options contract expiry

Oil prices increased slightly on Wednesday, as bearish pressure from the spread of the Omicron variant was counterbalanced by a larger-than-expected drop in US crude reserves. Thus, both Brent oil and WTI crude inched 0.2% higher at $73.88 a barrel and $70.87 a barrel, respectively.
