EU Parliament backs higher targets on renewables and energy savings

European Union lawmakers voted on Wednesday to raise the bloc's targets to expand renewable power and save energy, backing proposals that had been made more ambitious in a bid to quickly end Europe's reliance on Russian gas.

Portugal ranked 4th for renewable energy in Europe

According to the most recent figures of the Portuguese Association for Renewable Energies (Apren), in the month of August, Portugal produced 46.8% of its electricity from renewable power sources, earning for itself a fifth place in Europe and forth, if the cumulative energy stock for 2022 is counted. Portugal, in 2022, was able to produce 54.6% of its energy from renewables. This result is lower than Norway, Austria and Denmark which reach respectively 99%, 80% and 77%.

Spain to launch 3.3 GW green tender in November
