Daily: Crude oil prices surge on OPEC agreement to limit output to tackle supply glut
Crude oil prices soared over 1 percent on Thursday on optimism over OPEC’s first scheduled output reduction in eight years, although oil paired gains as some analysts were skeptical that the production freeze would be enough to cope with the supply glut. Brent crude rose by 55 cents, or 1.1 percent, at $49.24 a barrel. It attained a three-week high at $49.81. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude inched 78 cents up, or 1.7 percent, to settle at $47.83 after a one-month high at $48.32.

Daily: Crude oil soars after OPEC deal to slash oil production in November
Crude oil ended up 6 percent on Wednesday after OPEC reached an agreement to curb crude output at its policy meeting in November. Brent crude rose by $2.72, or 5.9 percent, to settle at $48.69 a barrel, attaining a more than two-week high of $48.96. WTI crude boosted $2.38, or 5.3 percent, to close at $47.05 a barrel.

Mexico: IEnova wins two solar agreements in energy auction
The Mexican division of Sempra Energy, Infraestructura Energetica Nova, obtained the rights to develop two solar power projects at auction on Wednesday, accumulating 141 megawatts and $150 million in estimated investment, as stated by the company.

Dutch parliament has decided to close all its coal-fired power plants
The Dutch parliament has decided yesterday to cut by 55% the country’s CO2 emissions by 2030. This would mean that the Netherlands would have to close all its coal- fired power plants. The decision taken by the Parliament would bring the Netherlands undoubtedly in line with the Paris Climate Change pact, which has a long-term goal of cutting CO2 levels by 80-95 per cent by 2050.

EDF will test 12 nuclear reactors in carbon investigation
French state-controlled utility EDF declared on Wednesday it would accomplish more tests on 12 nuclear reactors during their scheduled outages in the future months, which might affect the length of the outage period for several of the reactors.
