According to data published on Monday by the Ukrainian Ukrinform news, the Ukrainian Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz intends to increase its production about one million tons of oil in Egypt oil fields in 2012.

U.S. crude futures went slightly up, while prices for ICE Brent March contract fell to 101.29 dollars a barrel, afterward the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak announced to shift its position to the Vice President Omar Suleiman. Meanwhile, the March crude contract added 56 cents to 87.27 dollars a barrel by 21:13 GMT on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

London crude prices surged by 60 cents to $100.52 a barrel by 07:10 GMT on Wednesday due to constraints in North Sea supplies, still transit through the Canal Suez was unaffected. Meanwhile, U.S. crude for March rose 66 cents to $87.60 a barrel, the spread between the two benchmarks widening to $12.92 a barrel. The turmoil in Egypt had pushed the oil market up during last 15 days, though the effects on U.S. oil prices are reducing now.
