The Hydropower Regulatory Efficiency Act (H.R. 3680) was recently introduced by Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Diana DeGette in the U.S. House of Representatives. It comprises several amendments to be applied on small and conduit hydropower facilities, as well some changes to be made in the licensing process.

France could become the first country to ban hydraulic fracturing

On Thursday, June 9th, the French Senate (upper house) passed a bill on hydraulic fracturing which involves amendments to the bill passed by the lower house last month, based on the prohibition of hydrocarbons exploration by way of hydraulic fracturing.
