UK accepts investments from gas and oil firms

The UK government has announced a series of investments by oil and gas companies that will develop a new research centre and will create thousands of jobs all over the UK. Six separate announcements include plans for new oil and gas fields in the North Sea in a £1.4 billion project which is supposed to supply around 5% of the UK's gas production from 2015. Each announcement represents a different project that is to be built.

Enel to cut costs in order to reduce debt

Enel plans cuts in its dividend payouts and investments over the next five years in order to diminish its debt and keep its credit rating. Mentioning over the share price fall, Fulvio Conti, the chief executive announced the 2012-16 business plan which establishes lower expected growth targets amid a cloudy outlook for Italy and Spain which was needed to clear the situation.

Wind power takes fright as government reviews subsidies

The bright future of British wind power is currently under review as government is seeing to review the subsidies. According to Offshore Wind Developers Forum, it has recently guaranteed that British companies should provide more than half of the content of the UK’s future wind factories. If optimistic predictions for the sector are borne out, offshore wind industry could spark 3 billion pounds investments in the UK supply flow by 2022, sustaining over 45,000 long-term jobs.
