Eni made important gas discovery in Pakistan
Italian energy group Eni SpA announced it has made a significant gas discovery in Pakistan, in the Badhra Area B exploration concession, situated in the Khirtar Fold Belt region, 350 kilometers north of Karachi.

France to close the door on shale gas exploration
Speaking at the opening of an environmental conference in Paris, the French President François Hollande announced he has rejected several applications to begin extracting natural gas and oil from shale using hydraulic fracking practice, which uses a high-pressure mixture of sand, water and chemicals to extract natural gas trapped in rocks.

Italy: offshore oil and gas exploration projects to resume after Berlusconi’s ban in 2010
The Mario Monti’s government has canceled the ban on offshore oil and gas exploration imposed by Silvio Berlusconi in 2010, following the Macondo well explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, causing the largest U.S. offshore oil spill.
