On April 13, a new deal was signed between Romania, Georgia and Azerbaijan. This one represents another way to supply the European Union with gas through a project that could be finalized faster than the project proposed by Brussels, named Nabucco.

South Stream project: Eni and Gazprom agreement

US LNG imports are tempered by UK high gas prices
US gas prices have seen a decrease this week, which is not really profitable for LNG shippers to import from European countries, as higher as the European prices proposed better netbacks, according to traders and analysts on Thursday.

Investment for the Nord Stream Natural Gas pipeline - the first phase.
Consortium Nord Stream, together with the shareholders - Gazprom, BASF / Wintershall GmbH, E. ON Ruhrgas AG, and NV Nederlandse Gasunie - have announced the successful achievement of fund raising for the first phase of a gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea. In the first phase, the total amount of funds increased to 3.9 billion euros, making possible the installing of the first pipeline as scheduled, in April 2010.
