BP to pay $25 million penalty following the Alaska oil spill

BP has to pay a $25 million penalty fee and spend other $60 million for improvement measures following the spill of more than 5,000 barrels of crude oil from the company's pipelines in Alaska in 2006, declared on Tuesday the US Department of Justice (DoJ) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

World’s largest shale gas deposits estimated to be in Ukraine.

The Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Mykola Zlochevsky, along with the Chairman of NAK "Nadra of Ukraine", Eduard Stavytskyi, announced at the "World Shale Gas - 2010" exhibition and conference that Ukraine currently possesses the world’s biggest shale gas deposits.
