Google to invest another 102 million dollars in Alta Wind

Google is investing its second investment of 102 million dollars in the California’s 1.55 GW Alta WindEnergyCenter. The project consists of a five-phase of Alta Wind project in the Tehachapi Mountains, which is one of the largest wind farms in the world.

A new solar plant in California.

The solar photovoltaic facility will be constructed in three projects that will start this month with a capacity of 45 megawatt and for a total sum of $220 million. This project appears as California regulators voted last week to raise the state’s renewable energy objective to one third by 2020.

SunPower will add 40 MW capacity to California Valley Solar Ranch

SunPower agreed with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) to add 40 MW of capacity to Sun Power’s existing contract with PG&E for 210 MW, executed in August 2008, as to develop a 250 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in San Luis Obispo County, CA.
