Biggest solar park in UK to be built in North Wales

The Compton Group, a green energy developer is aiming to build the UK’s largest solar park in North Wales. The project is likely to see something like 180,000 panels erected over 220 acres on land near Deeside Industrial Park and would create enough green electricity from the sun to power about 11,000 households. The development could create more than 100 jobs during the construction phase and a small number of positions once ready.

Significant Irish wind project will supply with power the UK

The UK government is taking into consideration strategies to import wind power from Ireland to the National Grid via cables under the Irish Sea to north and west Wales. The cables would re-emerge at two sites in Wales with one of them at Pentir near Caernarfon, and the other one at Pembroke.
