Law No.134 of August 7, 2012, ratifying the Decree Law No. 83 of June 22, 2012 on the “urgent measures for growth of the country” published in the “Gazzetta Ufficiale” on August 11, brings changes to the system concerning import of biofuels produced in countries outside the European Union.

Germany sets new solar power record in the first six months of 2012

The German Federal Network Agency announced that more than 4.3 GW were installed in the first six months of the year, while in the same period last year were installed only 1.71 GW. This change is due to the new feed-in tariff legislation which introduced in June new monthly tariff degressions.

Vestas CEO: U.S. wind market to fall 80% in 2012

According to CEO of the world’s biggest turbine maker, Vestas, the U.S. wind market is likely to decline by 80% in 2013 because of the expiry of the U.S. production tax credit (PTC) for renewable energy at the end of this year and it is believed that the new Congress will not renew the legislation before its expiry.

Bulgaria pledges for common European legislation for shale gas

Bulgaria initiated the adoption of a common legislation for exploration and production of shale gas in the EU at a forum on non-conventional gas extraction which took place on November 11 in Sofia, organized by the Bulgarian Industrial Association.
