Daily (12.11.2020): Carbon prices hold above the €26 mark amid strong technical selling and profit-taking

Crude prices edged higher on Wednesday, as hopes for a Covid-19 vaccine outweighed OPEC’s announcement to revise down its global oil demand outlook for 2020 and 2021. Hence, Brent oil ended 0.4% higher at $43.80 a barrel, while WTI crude saw a marginal increase of 0.2%, closing at $41.45 a barrel.

Daily (06.11.2020): European Cal’21 power contracts rose to 10-day highs on Thursday amid stronger carbon

Oil prices declined modestly on Thursday amid persisting concerns about the impact of the new COVID-19 restrictions over global demand and uncertain outcome of the U.S. presidential election. Hence, Brent crude lost 30 cents, or 0.7%, to settle at $40.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude declined by 36 cents, or 0.9%, to end at $38.79 per barrel.

The prices for crude oil decreased on Friday, following Libya's decision to boost its oil output. The price for Brent oil dropped by 1.6% to close at $41.77 a barrel, while WTI crude slumped by 1.9% to trade at $39.85 a barrel.
