Crude oil prices fell on Friday due to increased concerns about weaker demand and uncertainty over a potential cap by Western nations on Russian crude oil prices. Thus, Brent crude plummeted by 2% to settle at $83.63 a barrel. WTI crude lost 2.3% to close at $76.28 a barrel.

Oil prices were rather constant on Thursday, due to uncertainty about the level of a price cap on Russian oil. Consequently, Brent crude traded rather flat at $85.34 a barrel, and WTI oil edged 0.1% higher at $78.08 a barrel amid general signs of low demand.
