GSE: Italy hits 15.9GW of cumulative PV capacity

Italy has installed a cumulative photovoltaic capacity of 15.9GW from its 448, 226 PV plants currently in operation at an annual cost of EUR 6.39 billion (USD 8.27 billion), as of October 12th, 2012, according to the Italian network agency, GSE.

Norway’s oil and gas output targets for 2012 in doubt

According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NDP), Europe’s biggest oil producer is expected to miss its oil and gas output target due to interruptions and technical problems. Norwegian oil and gas production fell deeply in September, as various fields were put on care and maintenance, and will likely produce less oil than the expected 1.6 million barrels per day in 2012.

Global clean energy investment to register a significant decrease in 2012

Global clean energy investment for 2012 is likely to fall short of last year’s 280 billion dollars. According to BNEF, global investment in clean energy came to 56.6 billion dollars in the third quarter of 2012, a 20% decrease in comparison to 2011, being the first annual decline within the last 8 years.
