French oil firm Total won a license to explore for natural gas in the Nile Delta, as declared on Monday by a source in the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding company (EGAS) owned by State.

British government gives the go-ahead to a new round of shale gas exploration

The British government unveiled it was opening up the bidding process for shale gas exploration in the country under the so-called "14th onshore licensing round". Alongside shale gas exploration, the bidding process will cover exploration and development of tight gas, coalbed methane and mine vent gas.

Tullow Oil quits its Lupus exploration well in Norway

Tullow Oil PLC unveiled it had stopped up and quitted its Lupus exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea blaming its failure to find any hydrocarbons. The well is 35km south-east of the Oseberg Sor Field and 110km west of the island of Sotra in the North Sea.
