Italy: SNAM ready to export gas to Eastern Europe
Italy-based SNAM, one of Europe’s major gas transport companies, is prepared to convey imported gas to Eastern Europe starting from 2015 due to a new gas stream infrastructure, taking into consideration that Russian gas supplies to Europe are being threatened by the increasing crisis over Ukraine.

Dong Energy: wind capacity to be increased to 312MW at Riffgrund
Dong Energy decided to increase the total capacity of its turbines from 277 MW to 312 MW at the Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm. The turbines are likely to be upgraded from 3.6 MW to 4 MW.

Daily: Brent crude prices settle higher ahead of Crimea referendum
Brent crude oil boosted over $1 on Friday ahead of the Sunday’s vote organized by pro-Moscow authorities, raising concerns that Crimea will chose to join Russia. U.S. crude oil also increased, but not so significantly, with gains being slashed by a surge in supply and weaker demand in U.S. and China, the biggest and second-biggest oil consumers.

Daily: Brent crude drops on weak economic data from China
Brent crude oil futures declined on Thursday since weak economic figures in China compensated fears over eventual supply interruptions that could be triggered by the conflict between Russia and Western powers over Ukraine. Meantime, U.S. crude futures posted a moderate gain, as bullish retail sales and labor market data increased the optimism about the economy and offset worries over China.

Czech PM desires more EU funding for energy security
The Czech Prime Minister, Bohuslav Sobotka, declared on Tuesday that more funding is needed from the European Union to projects increasing energy security of its member states by linking their energy networks in order to strengthen diversification of resources.
