Large seismic campaign kicking off in Geneva, Switzerland

The State of Geneva and the Industrial Services of Geneva (SIG) have announced that they will conduct a prospecting campaign for the Geneva subsoil from September 13, 2021 for a period of approximately six weeks. This 3D geophysical measurement campaign will make it possible to precisely map the subsoil of the Geneva basin in order to locate the most favorable places for the exploitation of geothermal energy.

Sole bidder in Croatia's latest oil or gas tender applies for one exploration block only

Croatia says four companies to invest 78 mln euro in oil or gas exploration

The four companies, which have just received six oil and gas exploration and exploitation licences for locations in northern Croatia, are expected to invest some 78 million euro ($85.3 million) in exploratory activities, energy minister Tomislav Coric said.

Spain Will Close Every Single Coal Mine by 2019

Spain will stop its operations on at least 26 coal mines in 2019, putting an end to the exploitation of said mineral. The mines that will be closed can be found in the communities of Asturias, Aragon and Castilla and Leon.
