Andra: France reveals its radioactive waste inventory

France had a stockpile of radioactive wastes amounting some 1.32 million cubic meters in 2010, according to a new national radioactive waste report published by the management agency Andra. This represents almost a 13% increase from 1.15 million cubic meters recorded in 2007.

Gazprom and Total to develop arctic reserves

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Christophe de Margerie, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Total met on Friday in Saint Petersburg to discuss the next step in the development of Shtokman natural gas field in the arctic waters on the Russian continent shelf, which is considered by Gazprom to be a strategically important move.

China Industrial Waste Management Company increased its profit in Q2 2011

The largest industrial solid waste recycling and environmental protection engineering company announced a double increase in profit in the second quarter of 2011 from 4.9 million dollars to 8.3 million dollars for the same period last year. Meanwhile, gross profit rose by 41.2 percent to 4.3 million dollars from 3.1 million dollars in the same period in the previous year.

U.S. crude oil futures eased on Monday registering early gains on indicated weak manufacturing data in the U.S. from the Institute for Supply Management. NYMEX crude for September delivery traded at 94.89 dollars a barrel, losing 81 cents after trading between 93.42 and 98.60 dollars.
