Crude oil prices climbed to a six-week high on Monday as a slow return of production in the U.S. Gulf outweighs some bearish notes set by the OPEC. The producer’s group recently cut their demand growth outlook for the fourth quarter due to the impact of the Delta variant. Hence, Brent crude increased by 0.8% to settle at $73.51 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude rose by 1% to close at $70.45 a barrel.

Daily (21.06.2021): CO2 prices gained 2% on Friday, tracking stronger energy markets

Crude oil prices increased on Friday, lifted by favorable outlooks for black gold demand. Despite a stronger US dollar and renewed Covid-19 concerns, Brent oil edged 0.6% higher at $73.51 a barrel, and WTI crude rose by 0.8% to $71.64 a barrel.

Oil prices rose on Friday, hitting fresh multi-year highs as an improved demand outlook continues to boost market sentiment. The rollout of the vaccine in North America as well as Europe is helping to restore demand, while crude supplies remain unchanged. Thus, Brent crude edged 0.2% higher at $72.69 a barrel. At the same time, WTI crude increased by 0.9% to settle at $70.91 a barrel.

Daily (01.06.2021): Brent crude nears $70 a barrel as demand outlook improves

Oil prices gained ground on Monday, with Brent crude for August delivery rising by 0.5% at $69.32 a barrel amid growing demand expectations for the rest of the year, as lockdown measures are gradually withdrawn in large parts of the western world. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude increased by 0.9% at 66.90 a barrel. British gas contracts did not trade on Monday due to the Spring bank holiday.
