A top Chinese official declared Tuesday that the greenhouse emissions cuts of the wealthy nations do not ensure the prevention of global warming. That said, China's National Development and Reform Commission thinks that the emerging economies should have a larger part in these emissions, thus allowing them to develop.

Siemens will provide 111 wind turbines to Dong Energy

Dong Energy, one of the largest energy companies in Northern Europe, request Siemens for the construction of 400 MW wind power in one of its projects in Denmark. Siemens is responsible for building, installing and commissioning of 111 wind turbines.

New EU package adopted on the sustainability criteria of biofuels

The European Commission adopted two Communications and a Decision June 10, encouraging industries, governments and NGOs to set up certification schemes on the sustainability criteria of biofuels, including the imported ones in the EU, as to aid reach the EU target in a sustainable way, the one of getting 20% of renewable energy from total energy consumption.
