Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine, Yuriy Boyko announced on Friday that Ukraine will start to import natural gas from Germany from January 1, 2013. Germany's RWE would sell Ukraine gas and it would be shipped via pipelines through Hungary.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has recently released a new report according to which the renewable energy will surpass coal, becoming the main generator of the world's electricity by 2035. It sees great potential for wind farms, solar farms and hydroelectric dams that become increasingly competitive with traditional energy sources, a level close by that of coal, said the Paris-based IEA agency that advises 28 nations on energy policy in its annual outlook.
