German cabinet approves 58 bln euro green investment plan for 2024
Germany's cabinet on Wednesday agreed to earmark 57.6 billion euros ($63.2 billion) for green investments next year, up 60.2% from a 2023 target, the Finance Ministry said, as Berlin ramps up subsidies to help the country become net zero by 2045.

Crude oil prices fell on Monday as a result of reduced demand for gasoline in the US, following the end of the summer driving season. Furthermore, the expansion of Chinese strategic oil reserves added downward pressure on prices. Thus, Brent crude dropped by 1.1% to end at $85.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude declined by over 1% to settle at $81.94 a barrel.

Germany hails breakthrough in EU talks on power plant plans
Germany's economy minister said on Tuesday Berlin had made a "breakthrough" in its talks with the European Commission on plans for new hydrogen and gas power plants, but has yet to agree on how they will be subsidised.
