Daily: Crude oil prices shed after Doha meeting failure

Crude oil prices shed on Monday after a plan by top oil producers to freeze production failed, but a Kuwait oil industry strike helped the market cut losses and rebound from the day’s lows. Brent closed down 19 cents, or 0.4 percent, at $42.91 a barrel. It had declined $3 earlier in the session. U.S. crude WTI slid 58 cents, or 1.4 percent, to settle at $39.78 a barrel, after falling to $37.61 at the day's low.

Daily: Crude oil prices rebound by 4% on production disruption concerns in Brazil, Libya

Crude oil prices rebounded by about 4 percent on Tuesday as a hike in U.S. gasoline and diesel after a disruption on a key pipeline system added further support to oil markets already buoyed by an industry strike in Brazil and force majeure for Libyan crude loadings. Brent crude edged $1.75 higher, or 3.6 percent, to settle at $50.54 a barrel, after hitting a peak of $50.91 during the session. U.S. crude boosted $1.76, or 3.8 percent, to close at $47.90. The session's peak was $48.36.

Daily: Crude oil prices diverge in volatile trade amid a hike in U.S. stockpiles, airstrikes in Syria

Crude oil prices settled mixed in volatile trade on Wednesday, with Brent increasing on concerns about Russian airstrikes in Syria and WTI crude declining after figures showing a hike in domestic stockpiles. For the quarter, both Brent and U.S. crude lost 24 percent, recording their largest decline since the end of 2014. Brent rose by 14 cents, or 0.3 percent, to close at $48.37 a barrel. It shed 10 percent for September. U.S. crude slipped 14 cents, or 0.3 percent, to end at $45.09, reversing earlier gains. For the month, U.S. crude fell 8 percent.
