Solaria to enter into the UK”s PV market

Solaria Energia Medio Ambientale has inked an important agreement as to provide over 500 rooftop solar PV systems in Northumbria in the United Kingdom. The modules will have a generation capacity between 2kW and 10 kW and will be set on the rooftops of council houses and public buildings. The project will receive funding from the country council.

Gamesa increased its sales in the first half of 2011

Gamesa sold its first MW of capacity in Brazil during the first half of 2011, while its whole sales were made outside Spain. The company’s revenue accounted 1,297 million euros in the first half of the year, with an increase in wind-turbine sales by 29%.

New wind turbines to capture more energy

A recently research made by the specialists at the California Institute of Technology showed that the old design of wind farms needs to be remade as to use maximum efficiency that will lift the power output from the wind farms. The researchers underline that larger and taller wind turbines will increase the capacity of wind farms rather than large dimensions of wind farms.

Belgium to join U.S. largest offshore transmission grid

The Atlantic Wind Connection project is the first high-voltage direct offshore grid to be built in the United States that estimates to cost 5.5 billion dollars with an integration capacity of 7GW of offshore wind.

German Vario completed 6.2 MW in the Slovak Republic

The German Vario green energy group ended the construction of six solar parks with a total power capacity of 6.2 MW. These are located in the Slovak regions Poltár, Biskupice and Rumince. The photovoltaic solar parks consist of 70,000 solar modules that will soon feed in 7 million kWh of electricity into the local grid, while the plant operators will get a remuneration of 38.23 Eurocents.
