A 304 MW wind farm completed in US by Iberdrola

The Blue Creek wind farm of 304 MW has been completed by a Spanish utility Iberdrola. The wind farm, situated in the Van Wert and Paulding Counties of Ohio, US consists of 152 units of Gamesa G90 wind turbines with a capacity of 2 MW each.

Gamesa to start the 2012 with several new deals

Gamesa, a Madrid –based wind Energy Company, started the year by signing several contracts in order to strengthen its presence in the global energy market. The company signed an agreement with Iberdrola to provide onshore wind turbines until at least 2022, aimed to be installed for planned projects.

Tule Wind Power Project approved

The US Department of the Interior gave approval to the construction of a 186 MW Tule Wind Power Project owned by Iberdrola Renewables. The project is the first one approved for public lands among the other five wind projects agreed on by Secretary Ken Salazar and then by the governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009. The wind project will be built in the In-Ko-Pah Mountains of San Diego County, California (USA).

Spain to focus on renewables

Spain is a fast developing renewable energy country and it is expected to move towards by supporting even more expensive energy commodities. Three Spanish companies, Iberdrola, Gas Natural and Endesa registered heavy incomes benefiting from the renewable boost. The chairman of Iberdrola, Sanchez Galan said the company made wrong steps with the development of solar PV power, and will make efforts to avoid such “moving” relative to solar thermal power.
