China to invest in UK’s nuclear plants

Two Chinese state-owned energy companies are interested in buying E.ON and RWE's UK nuclear joint venture Horizon which was put up for sale in March, as China envisages building a huge number of new nuclear plants on its own territory, to replace some of its old and heavily polluting coal plants.

China reduces solar incentives on falling costs of components

The incentives for demonstration sun-power projects have been reduced this year in China by 21 percent due to slashing costs for panel components. The government has cut the feed-in tariffs to 5.5 Yuan (87 cents) a watt from the 7 Yuan set in February.
