Crude oil prices ended on a mixed note on Friday awaiting the outcome of a meeting of the OPEC and its allies after a dispute emerged over plans to further ease production curbs through the end of the year. In this context, Brent crude edged 0.4% higher to settle at $76.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, the American WTI closed rather flat at $75.16 a barrel.

Spain earmark 1.3 bln euros in aid to renewable power generation for private consumption

The Spanish government approved a 1.3 billion euro ($1.55 billion) plan to finance investments in renewable power generation for private consumption with the rescue funds to be disbursed by the European Union, spokesperson Maria Jesus Montero said on Tuesday.

Daily (24.06.2021): The German day-ahead power price extended its 4-year high on forecasts for less wind generation

Crude oil prices advanced on Wednesday, as the EIA weekly report showed another drop in US crude reserves. Hence, Brent oil gained 0.5% to settle at $75.19 a barrel, while WTI crude edged 0.3% up at $73.08 a barrel.

Spain to suspend 7pc power generation tax in 3Q

The Spanish government will suspend a 7pc blanket tax on power generation for the third quarter as part of provisional measures to mitigate the impact of high wholesale electricity prices on consumers' bills, environment and energy minister Teresa Ribera said.
