Daily: Brent crude hits its lowest settlement since April on supply glut, weak demand

Brent crude oil futures hit its weakest point since April on Thursday and U.S. crude declined below $49 a barrel for the first time since late March, on continued worries about robust supply and low demand which offset support from dollar’s depreciation. U.S. crude for September delivery shed 74 cents to close at $48.45 a barrel, the weakest settlement since March 31. Brent crude for September delivery dipped 86 cents to settle at $55.27, the lowest settlement since April 2.

Daily: British spot gas prices firm after an outage at a Norwegian gas-processing plant

Crude oil futures declined more than 1 percent on Wednesday after a government report indicating an eight consecutive weekly draw in U.S. crude inventories was offset by a considerable increase in refined products. Brent futures fell 96 cents, or 1.5 percent, to settle at $63.49 a barrel. U.S. crude tumbled 74 cents, or 1.2 percent, to close at $60.27.

Daily: Crude oil prices tumble in a volatile trade, on stronger dollar, nuclear deal pursuit and supply concerns

Crude oil prices settled lower on Thursday on a volatile trade, as a stronger dollar and Washington’s pursuit of a nuclear deal with Tehran offset previous gains from supply concerns in Libya and Iraq. Brent dropped 7 cents to close at $60.48 a barrel, after soaring more than $1 earlier. U.S. crude declined 77 cents at $50.76, after rallying to $52.40 earlier.

Daily: European spot power prices jump on cold spell, weaker wind supply in Europe

Crude oil prices were little changed on Monday after hitting the highest level since nearly two months, as the dollar appreciation following the collapse of Greek debt negotiations helped to offset intensifying violence in Libya and worries about exports from Kurdistan. Brent futures fell 3 cents to hit $61.49 a barrel by 3 p.m. EST after touching an intra-day peak of $62.57 a barrel. U.S. March crude futures were flat at $52.78 a barrel. There was no settlement on Monday due to a U.S. public holiday, with Monday’s activity to be registered on Tuesday.

Daily: European coal futures dip to 5-year lows on oversupplied system

Brent crude oil prices remained unchanged, while U.S. crude dropped slightly in choppy trading on Thursday as healthy supply and a strong U.S. dollar helped to offset worries about tensions in the Middle East would cut disrupt output. Brent increased by 5 cents to close at $97.00 a barrel after oscillating by more than $1 between $96.22 and $97.56 throughout the session. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell 27 cents to settle at $92.53.
