Enel Green Power has connected a new PV plant in Romania

Italian-based Enel Green Power (EGP) has connected to the grid the Colibasi photovoltaic (PV) plant, sited in Giurgiu, with a total installed capacity of 6.5 MW bringing the EGP’s Romanian installed solar capacity up to about 26 MW.

PV installations worldwide to reach 41 GW in 2014

Photovoltaic installations worldwide are expected to rise at their fastest pace in the last three years next year, reaching more than 40 GW and generating installation incomes of about 86 billion dollars. PV installations in 2014 are likely to rise by 17-18 percent, increasing from 15 % of last year and 13 percent in 2013. The highest rate of growth was last registered in 2011 with a 35 percent increase.

U.S solar power soars 15% in Q2 on large scale projects

The United States installed 832 MW of photovoltaic solar panels in the second quarter, posting a 15 per cent increase compared with prior period as booming business for utility-scale systems helped offset lower demand for residential and commercial projects, according to new figures released today by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).
