Bulgaria to move toward small renewable projects

According to Bulgaria’s Energy Minister, Delyan Dobrev, the country, which strives for reaching 16 percent of its final energy demand from renewable by 2020, will turn its energy focus on small renewable energy projects in order to keep off the increase in electricity costs and avoid the overburden of its power grid because of the rapid development of big wind and solar projects.

UK renewable sector could reach £50bn by 2020

According to a recently released report by the Renewable Energy Association (REA) shows that achieving the UK’s green target of generating 15% of its energy from renewable sources could lead the country on the top of global renewable industries and save £60bn in oil and gas imports and bring £12.5bn and£ 50bn by the end of the decade.

Spain wind energy reaches 60.5% demand

According to national grid manager REE, Spain’s wind parks provided a record 60.46 percent of demand for power early on Monday, following a windy weekend that pushed wholesale power prices to their lowest levels in more than two years.
