EU climate and infrastructure agency eyes end of fossil fuel projects
The director of CINEA, a recently established EU agency managing €55 billion in EU funding for clean energy and transport, has told EURACTIV about the challenge of ending fossil fuel projects entirely, saying coal and natural gas assets “are not simply going to go away” and need to be managed during the transition.

Octopus Energy, RES to invest $4.1 billion in UK green hydrogen production
UK renewable power utility Octopus Energy and renewable energy company RES have partnered to invest GBP3 billion ($4.1 billion) in renewable hydrogen projects across the country by 2030, the companies said in a statement Oct. 14.

Repsol hikes 2030 renewables target by 60pc to 20GW
Spanish integrated firm Repsol has increased its target for installed renewable power capacity to 20GW in 2030 from a previous target of 12.7GW, with Spanish capacity accounting for about a third of projects by the end of the decade, compared with 90pc currently.
