Nine offshore wind energy developers join forces to slash levelised cost of energy
Nine of the largest offshore wind developers in Europe: DONG Energy, EnBW, E.ON, Iberdrola, RWE, SSE, Statkraft, Statoil and Vattenfall have joined forces with independent company Carbon Trust to work on collaborative research, development and demonstration (RD&D) programme - the Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) in order to slash the levelised cost of energy from offshore wind, improve efficiency and availability of existing and future offshore wind farms.

French EDF acquires a 80 % stake in Chinese wind energy firm
State-owned French energy giant EDF on Tuesday acquired a majority 80 percent stake in Hong Kong-based Chinese firm UPC Asia Wind Management (AWM), growing its presence on the Chinese renewable energy market.

Germany unveils shift from renewables subsidies to auctions
Germany’s parliament adopted on July 8 an amended Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG 2016), which replaces feed-in tariffs with competitive auctions and caps wind energy deployment to allow for the grid development to catch up.

DONG Energy has been awarded to build two offshore wind farms in the Netherlands
Denmark's DONG Energy has won a tender to deploy two offshore wind farms in the Netherlands with a capacity of 350 MW each, the country's Economic Affairs Ministry said on Tuesday.
