EDF Energy to stop aggressive doorstep practice

EDF Energy, the British arm of France's biggest energy company EDF, is the latest of the “big six” to announce the suspension of its doorstep sales practice, following the similar actions of other energy suppliers as British Gas in August and Scottish and Southern Energy in July.

Gamesa increased its sales in the first half of 2011

Gamesa sold its first MW of capacity in Brazil during the first half of 2011, while its whole sales were made outside Spain. The company’s revenue accounted 1,297 million euros in the first half of the year, with an increase in wind-turbine sales by 29%.

Boost in sales of residential wind turbines in USA

Despite the difficult situation in the economy’s path, more and more people are buying small wind turbines, with around 10,000 units sold nationally in 2009 compared to 2,100 units sold in 2001, according to the American Wind Energy Association.

U.S. crude oil futures edged slightly up on Friday as weak home sales data sparked economic worries and pared earlier crude gains supported by a weaker dollar. U.S. crude for July delivery traded at 100.59 dollars a barrel, up 36 cents after a trading range from 100.04 to 101.24 dollars.
