Romania commits to phase out coal by 2032
Romania will exit coal by 2032 at the latest and pass a law by mid-2022 to address the closure of mines and adopt socio-economic measures to support coal communities and reskilling of worers, according to the country’s official recovery plan.

UK Looks To Support Rollout Of Nuclear Fusion Energy
The United Kingdom will start work to create a regulatory framework for supporting research and development of nuclear fusion technology to enable the delivery of clean and safe energy, the government said on Tuesday in response to a report from an independent expert committee on regulations.

Crude oil prices move a shade higher on Tuesday following the massive fluctuations last week and at the beginning of this week, with traders keeping an eye on developments in talks aimed at reviving the Iran nuclear deal. The approaching high season for oil and lifting restrictions in much of Europe and the United States provide further support to oil prices. Hence, Brent crude added 0.3% to settle at $68.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. WTI crude ended rather flat at $66.07 a barrel.

Daily (17.05.2021): Oil prices increased by over 2% on Friday, on optimism over strong demand recovery in the US
Crude oil prices rebounded on Friday, lifted by prospects of strong demand recovery the United States and a weaker dollar. Brent oil rose by 2.5% to $68.71 a barrel and WTI crude was 2.4% up at $65.37 a barrel.

Oil prices increased on Wednesday, as crude inventories in the United States diminished slightly. Meanwhile, the tense situation at some American gas stations, after the shutdown of a major pipeline, lent additional support to prices. Hence, Brent oil was 1.1% up at $69.32 a barrel and WTI crude ended 1.2% higher at $66.08 a barrel.
