Daily (07.02.2019): EU carbon prices surged by over 2% on Wednesday, buoyed by rising power prices and a gap in the auction calendar
Wednesday saw slight gains in oil prices due to a strong U.S. demand for distillate products and a prevailing shortage in the global crude supply. However, gains were capped amidst a stronger U.S. dollar and persisting concerns over a global economic slowdown. Brent crude was up 1.2% at 62.69 USD/bbl, while WTI crude rose by 0.7% to close at 54.01 USD/bbl.

Daily (01.02.2019): EU carbon prices plunged by 3.4% on Thursday, amid weaker power prices and ahead of the German auction restart
Oil spot prices were mixed on Thursday. WTI crude declined by 0.8% to settle at 53.79 USD/bbl, on continued concerns over a sluggish global economic growth. Meanwhile, Brent crude rose by 0.4% to close at 61.65 USD/bbl, following data showing a drop in Saudi Arabia’s crude supply to the United States and the recently imposed U.S. sanctions on Venezuelan exports.

Daily (17.01.2019): Carbon prices jumped by over 3% on Wednesday following an oversized Polish auction
Oil prices edged higher on Wednesday, due to OPEC supply cuts and China’s fiscal stimulus signals. However, gains were capped by increasing U.S. fuel inventories and higher crude oil production. As a result, Brent crude inched up by 1.1% to 61.32 USD/bbl, while WTI futures edged 0.4% higher closing at 52.31 USD/bbl.

German CO2 auctions set to resume in Feb: European Commission

EDPR, Shell JV wins 1.6-GW area in US offshore wind auction
EDP Renovaveis SA announced on Friday that its joint venture (JV) with oil major Royal Dutch Shell Plc secured in Massachusetts' offshore wind auction an area which could accommodate 1.6 GW of capacity.
