Daily – Brent, U.S. crude turns lower after brief rally

Brent and U.S. crude oil futures decreased on Wednesday after a brief rally as strong increase in crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma hub countered data indicating falls in refined products stock and an overall rise in crude inventories that was along with expectations. By 15:05 GMT, ICE Brent crude traded at 125.92 dollars a barrel, losing 30 cents in choppy trading between 125.55 and 126.68 dollars, while WTi crude settled at 106.11 dollars, losing 60 cents after a trading range between 106.03 and 107.02 dollars.

England to boost marine power

The South-West of England is likely to be named as UK’s first marine energy park. It will extend from Bristol to Cornwall and as far as the Isles of Scilly. The announcement will create a partnership in the region among national and local government, Local Enterprise Partnerships, the Universities of Plymouth and Exeter and Industry, but also Cornwall’s Wave Hub.

IEA: Singapore to become an LNG-trading hub

With a record demand for LNG in Japan and a boom in North American supplies, natural gas is expected to play a key role in the global energy mix of the future, with the International Energy Agency (IEA) saying it could well be a “golden age” for gas, paving the way for an LNG trading hub in Asia.
