Vestas receives an order for a new project in France

Danish manufacturer of wind turbines Vestas has received an order from Ostwind International for the delivery of 12 units of its V90- 3MW wind turbines for the new Atrebatie project in France. The Le Bois du Haut, Le Vert Galant, and Garimetz wind farms will be composed from 12 wind turbines with a total capacity of 36 MW.

TGC Renewables to build the largest solar farm in UK

TGC Renewables, one of the most important renewable energy developers in the UK, has announced that they will commence now the construction of the 6.2 MW solar PV project, at Marley Thatch in South Devon. This will be the largest solar PV project and once completed the solar farm would provide enough electricity to power about 2,500 homes, TGC Renewables said.

Ireland will miss to meet the 2020 EU targets

According to the EU- funded “Sustainable Energy for the Rural Village Environment” (SERVE) project, Ireland is to miss its EU energy efficiency target by 2020. The project stated that about 90,000 buildings will need important improvements every year by 2020, even if this year less than 50,000 buildings undergo energy upgrades.If Ireland doesn’t reach its objective by 2020, it will have to pay severe penalties.
