Daily: European spot power declines on strong French nuclear supply and milder weather

Front crude Brent and U.S. crude oil increased on Friday, backed by new protests in Egypt and optimism about talks on releasing aid to Greece. Front crude Brent climbed 83 cents to settle at $111.38 a barrel on Friday, posting a weekly gain of $2.43. Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil futures rose 90 cents to settle at $88.28 a barrel on Friday, posting a weekly gain of $1.61.

Gazprom to make an offer for Greek energy firm

Almost 17 bidders from 12 countries, including Gazprom, are bidding to acquire the Greek gas companies DEPA, the public gas supply corporation of Greece, and DESFA, a fully owned subsidiary of DEPA. At present, the Greek Republic owns a 65 % stake in the company and a 35 % stake is held by the refining company Hellenic Petroleum.
