Italy’s Edison gets price reduction for gas delivered by Gazprom

The Russian energy giant, Gazprom has agreed to reduce its gas prices for Italy’s Edison S.p.A, as the Italian company has filed a lawsuit to win cheaper tariffs, business daily Kommersant reported on Monday.

U.S. crude oil futures traded near 100 dollars a barrel on Friday, the utmost level over the last six weeks. NYMEX crude for September delivery traded at 99.87 dollars a barrel, up 74 cents, the highest since June 9, when it hit 101.93 dollars.

EU to endorse new biofuel certification scheme

New sustainable biofuel schemes were approved recently by the European Commission which will certify biofuels produced within the European Union or imported into the EU zone. EBRD and EIB to allocate $308 million for Ukraine’s gas transport system reconstruction

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a memorandum of understanding with Ukraine's national oil and gas company, NAK NaftoGaz, to allocate $308 million for the modernization of its obsolete gas transportation system.
