A retreating stock market and fears about rising U.S. crude output contributed to a fall in oil prices on Thursday to two-week lows. Brent crude declined by 3% to end at $63.83 a barrel. WTI futures dropped by 1.1% to close at $60.99 a barrel.

Oil rose modestly on Monday, lifted by a healthy demand expected in the coming weeks. However, increased drilling activity in the US and uncertainty over Libyan and Nigerian production cuts clouded the future supply outlook. Brent crude rose by 0.36% to end at $46.88 a barrel, while the WTI price increased by 0.38% to $44.40 a barrel.

Crude oil prices posted a slight decline on Wednesday in a volatile trade, dragged down by a record high in U.S. crude and gasoline stockpiles which fed concerns about a supply glut. However, the bearish inventories data were offset by evidence that OPEC and other producers were complying with agreed supply cuts.

The NBP UK season-ahead (winter) gas price has dropped over 5% since the end of March, and the contract failed to find support at key technical markets on its way to its current value. Rising supply confidence and bulging inventories have reassured traders that there will be enough gas to meet demand later in the year, leading to a downward price correction after a period of sharp gains.
