Russia: Q2 net income of Gazprom falls by 80% year-on-year, forecast missed

Russia’s Gazprom declared recently that the net income for the second quarter fell lower than expected compared to the same period of 2016, or by over 80% to 48 billion roubles ($817.3 million), because of losses related to foreign exchange rates. The forecasted amount earnings for second quarter was 50.2 billion roubles.

Wind industry - a new generation of colossal 300m turbines

Wind farm operators are seeking for a new generation of colossal wind turbines, taller than many skyscrapers, as they want to remain profitable after EU cancels subsidies, that have ruled the green industry since the 1990s. The main countries of the EU offshore wind industry - Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and UK - are looking to gradually reduce contributions over the next decade. Subsidies still account for almost 50% of EU wind projects' income.
