Posiva applies to operate used fuel disposal facilities
Finnish radioactive waste management company Posiva Oy has submitted its application for an operating licence for the used fuel encapsulation plant and final disposal facility currently under construction at Olkiluoto. The repository - the first in the world for used fuel - is expected to begin operations in the mid-2020s.

Crude oil prices edged slightly higher on Thursday ahead of OPEC+ meeting next week, on expectations for strong fuel demand despite soaring Omicron coronavirus infections. Hence, Brent crude closed higher at $79.32 a barrel, while the American WTI crude rose by 0.6% to settle at $76.99 a barrel.

Snam to build hydrogen-ready fuel cell for Italy's Torino Airport
Gas group Snam has agreed a 14 million euro ($15.9 million) contract to build a hydrogen-ready fuel cell for Italy's Torino Airport to help it to cut its carbon footprint, the two companies said.

Russian gas continues to flow east via Yamal-Europe pipeline
The Yamal-Europe pipeline that usually delivers Russian gas to Western Europe was sending the fuel back to Poland for an eighth straight day on Tuesday, according to data from German network operator Gascade.
