It`s White Paper, The rise of nuclear technology 2.0, is the result of three years of "deep-diving the promises" of this advanced nuclear technology, and investing thousands of engineering hours in technical due diligence and market studies.

Swedish utility Vattenfall and Estonia's Fermi Energia have signed a Letter-of-Intent to further expand their cooperation on small modular reactors (SMRs). For the past year Vattenfall has participated in a feasibility study by Fermi Energia to explore the possibilities for the deployment of such reactors in Estonia.

Finland's Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (Stuk) has published a report discussing the safety assessment and licensing of small modular reactors (SMRs). The regulator says it is preparing for the licensing of such reactors "due to the national and international interest in them."

Estonia's Fermi Energia has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Finnish power company Fortum and Belgian engineering firm Tractebel to cooperate on studying the deployment of small modular reactors (SMRs) in the Baltic country.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has recently outlined its plans to support the design and licensing of small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) and to promote their use for power generation. The Obama administration supports SMRs as a form of low carbon energy and for job creation.
