Daily: UK gas for winter delivery plunges to record lows on weak demand

Crude oil dropped about $1 on Wednesday as Libyan and Iranian supply started to recover, hitting the lowest settlement in almost three weeks despite considerable draw in U.S. oil stockpiles. Brent crude fell $1.05 a barrel to close at $111.24, while U.S. light crude dropped by more than a dollar to a session low of $104.25, then rebounded to close down 86 cents at $104.48.

Daily: Europe power prices diverge on higher nuclear availability in France, stronger electricity demand in Germany

Crude oil prices plunged slightly on Tuesday as worries about supply disruptions due to the clashes in Iraq and Ukraine attenuated, whereas oil prices gained some support from optimistic manufacturing data in China. Brent crude dropped by 7 cents to close at $112.29 a barrel, the weakest settlement price since June 12, while U.S. oil declined by 3 cents to end at $105.34 a barrel, also the lowest level since June 12.

Daily: European carbon prices at highest quarterly increase since 2008 on supply cuts

Brent crude declined toward $112 a barrel on Monday, touching an 18-day low, while U.S. crude dropped near $105 as investors’ worries about eventual supply disruptions from Iraq eased. Brent slipped 94 cents to close at $112.36 a barrel, its weakest settlement since June 12. WTI crude inched 37 cents down to settle at $105.37 a barrel, also its lowest since June 12.

The European and U.S. crude oil benchmarks dropped on Thursday as worries about exports disruptions from war-devastated Iraq attenuated, allowing market participants to take some profits. Brent crude declined 79 cents to close at $113.21, its weakest settlement since June 16. U.S. crude fell 66 cents to end at $105.84, the lowest settlement since June 11.
