Daily – Global Markets Plunge after Fed Decision
The dollar rallied to a seven-month high on the outlook of higher short-term interest rates after Federal Reserve’s decision to sell $400 billion of short-term Treasury bonds to buy longer-dated debt and offered a gloomy economic prospect. The announcement let down investors who had hoped for stronger stimulus measures, causing a drop in equities and commodity prices. European stock index futures plunged over 2.5% after a drop of over 4% on Asian exchanges, while gold lost 1% and copper reached nearby the day's low.

Tax rebates for natural gas imports in China
China will offer a tax rebate for its growing imports of natural gas, as well as for piped gas from Central Asia and seaborne shipments of LNG. The rebates will be in force from 2011 to 2020 and will be applied in case of higher costs of imports than the domestic wholesale prices.

Gazprom may join the TAPI project
Pakistan offers Russian energy giant, Gazprom the opportunity to take part to the two multi-billion dollar gas pipeline projects, the Iran-Pakistan (TP) and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) project, aimed to transport natural gas from Central Asian states to India and Pakistan.
