Russia hopes to ink a deal on natural gas supplies to China from western Siberian fields, besides the previously settled supplies from an eastern route, during President Vladimir Putin's visit to China in September, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak declared on Tuesday.

Daily: European prompt power prices diverge, with German down, French up
Crude oil futures touched four-month lows on Monday after a sharp decline in China’s stock markets which intensified worries about the economic health of the largest energy consumer in the world, while data showed a growing crude glut. Brent crude oil slipped $1.15, or 2 percent, to close at $53.47 a barrel. U.S. crude dropped 75 cents, or 1.6 percent, to settle at $47.39.

China to build two nuclear power plants in Iran
China envisages building two new nuclear power plants in Iran on the Makran coast, near the Gulf of Oman, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization head Ali Akbar Salehi announced Wednesday.
