Gazprom and Centrica strike a 3 year gas supply contract

British utility Centrica has announced on Thursday that it has signed a 3 years gas supply contract with Gazprom Marketing & Trading, a UK registered wholly-owned subsidiary of Russian energy giant Gazprom. Under the deal, Gazprom will supply 2.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas starting from 2014.

EU will investigate Gazprom in antitrust probe

The EU Commission said it would investigate into Russia’s major Gazprom with the intention of discovering whether the export monopoly Gazprom had blocked fair competition in the natural gas markets of Central and Eastern Europe. It said it would investigate if Gazprom was obstructing the free flow of gas across the EU countries and whether it erred in charging unfair prices to its customers through its oil-linked gas prices.

Turkish private companies could import Russian gas from January 2013

Turkish private companies will be authorized to import up to 6 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually from January 1, 2013, with the condition that the companies will have to sign agreements with Russian energy company Gazprom, according to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority(EPDK).

Gazprom strikes a deal with Israel to develop gas reserves

During a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, the Russian gas giant, Gazprom agreed to open a subsidiary in Israel that will help to develop large offshore gas reserves.
