Daily: Crude oil prices fall on IEA forecast

Crude oil prices settled down on Thursday after the International Energy Agency (IEA) slashed its forecast for energy demand growth this year for the third consecutive month. However, Brent prices dropped more sharply than U.S. crude, reducing the spread between Brent and U.S. West Texas Intermediate to a nine-month low of $10.59 at one point on Thursday, before settling at $10.76.

According to National Energy Administration, China has registered a 41% increase in the production of wind power in 2012. The Asian nation has produced 100.8 billion kilowatt-hours of wind power last year, while in 2011 it produced 71.5 billion kilowatt-hours.
