LNG deal between Estonia and Finland

A transaction between Estonia and Finland has been signed on Friday aiming the construction of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals on each side of the Gulf of Finland and a pipeline linking the two countries, as stated by Juhan Parts, the Estonian Economy Minister.

Gazprom could face a 15 billion dollars fine from EU regulators

After a year-long investigation the EU regulators are preparing to charge Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom over suspected infringement of EU competition rules in member states including Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia, risking a fine of up to 15 billion dollars. Currently Gazprom supplies a quarter of Europe's gas consumption needs.

Estonia: The first nation to meet the EU 2020 target

According to the grid operator Elering AS, Estonia’s share of renewable energy has increased by 2% in comparison to 2011 levels and currently stands at 14.9% of total consumption, which means that Estonia is the first country in the European Union to meet the 2020 renewables target.
